All the Bright Places- SSR
The novel All the Bright Places, by Jennifer Niven briefly focuses on two characters. A girl named Violet and a boy named Theodore Finch are friends that started with both about to throw themselves out of a window at the same time. However, Finch uses charm to have Violet get down and they both get off. Violet lost her dearest sister in an accident and has had to live with it asking herself “Why her” she completely loses is and hasn’t been happy ever since. She is a girl that learns how to live from a boy that has always been all about death. Finch has an undiagnosed bipolar disorder that he suffers with from constantly being bullied all his life and having to live with a father that beats him. Violet and Finch attempt in trying to be happy by working on a project in which they will wander to new places. Violet improves herself and starts being more happy however Finch does not get better a lot of bad things start to happen but seems okay since he still had Violet, but once her parents say she can no longer see him he loses it. He feels as if he lost her. Spoiler Alert: Finch ends up committing suicide and leaves Violet with the rest of the places to wander leaving clues for her in each remaining spot.
